Riders must be 10+ years old to ride dc scooters and accompanied by an adult. If the child is too young they can safely ride with an adult. Taking a test drive and getting scooter training before you make your decision is always an option. Be sure to check out the how to ride page here.
No, there is no app that you need to download. Dc scooter rentals are app free making it easier for groups of any size! If you prefer to use an app and pay by the minute, check out the dart scooter app.
We do full refunds for cancellations due to weather no matter what! If it’s not weather related, there is still always 100% full refund as long as you cancel your booking within 24 hours of your rental date.
If your rental duration is under 4 hours - we request that you start and finish your ride at the dc scooter shop.
If your rental duration is 4 hours or more - we offer free delivery + pickup from wherever you want! Just make sure when you finish your scooter rental you park and LOCK scooters in a safe and secure space that is visible from the street.
There is NO LAW requiring helmets. Most people do not wear helmets, but there are a few kids sized helmets at the scooter shop. Since we are a private fleet and scooter shop - dc scooters ARE ALLOWED on the sidewalk, street, bike lane, and pretty much anywhere. The dc scooters don’t have any “NO RIDE ZONES” like the other electric scooters in DC that shut down in some areas of the national mall. Rent dc scooters and ride all the way up to each monument!

Scooter Safety
Only scooters in DC with FREE training. New riders that have never done it - WE GOT YOU! Training is best when you rent dc scooters and pick up at the shop. There is also a quick tutorial when scooters are delivered. During your scooter rental you can send a text or call the shop for on-site customer service and support with an average response time of 10 minutes.
