Riders must be 10+ years old to ride dc scooters and accompanied by an adult. If the child is too young they can safely ride with an adult. Taking a test drive and getting scooter training before you make your decision is always an option. Be sure to check out the how to ride page here - if you can ride a bike then it will be easy!
No, there is no app that you need to download. Dc scooter rentals are app free making it easier for groups of any size! If you prefer to use an app and pay by the minute, check out our dart scooters app!
We do full refunds for cancellations due to weather no matter what! If it’s not weather related, there is still always 100% full refund as long as you cancel your booking within 24 hours of your rental date.
If your rental duration is under 4 hours - we request that you start and finish your ride at the dc scooter shop.
If your rental duration is 4 hours or more - we offer free delivery + pickup from wherever you want! Just make sure when you finish your scooter rental you park and LOCK scooters in a safe and secure space that is visible from the street.
There is NO LAW requiring helmets. Most people do not wear helmets, but there are kids and few adult sized helmets at the scooter shop. Since we are a private fleet and independent scooter shop - dc scooters ARE ALLOWED on the sidewalk, street, bike lane, and pretty much anywhere. The dc scooters don’t have any “NO RIDE ZONES” like lime and Veo that shut down in some areas of the national mall. Rent dc scooters and ride all the way up to each monument!
